If you're on Facebook, I'm sure you saw the viral sensation of Tree Change Dolls floating around. An incredible woman named Sonja Singh, who has a love for upcycling, has turned old, overly made up, discarded dolls into new beautiful dolls (that actually resemble little girls). She is a talented artist and gives new life to something that someone did not think twice about discarding. The best part about her talent is not only does she create and sell these dolls, she is so kind that she has shared each step with the world in a few youtube DIY videos. Our family friend's little girl turned two and while at WINS thrift shop I saw the perfect doll to upcycle for her birthday. Unfortunately regular nail polish remover with acetone could not get this made up face off but a neighbour helped me out with some strong paint stripper. Besides that one little hiccup, it was easy to do, even with a giant dollar store paintbrush size 1 million and no artistic skills. It was so fun and I was quite happy with how it turned out. I look forward to creating one for my own daughter!
