6 Pandemic Valentines Day Date Ideas

Valentines Day is all about spending time with your loved ones. Even us sasquatches know about February 14th! While I would usually take this day to wander out of the woods and find someone special, this Valentines Day is going to look a little bit different thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. So, I thought that I would share my advice for Valentines Day so that you and your beau can feel the love while also staying safe!

Some of us are lucky enough to get to spend the day by the side of our loved one. Meanwhile, others need to spend it at a distance thanks to lockdown rules. Fear not, for your resourceful sasquatch friend has tips for people in both situations!

Valentines Day Date Ideas for In-Person Time

Are you one of the few of us that gets to spend Valentines Day with their lover in-person? Odds are that you may be wondering if there are any fun stay-at-home date night ideas that you haven’t already tried over the past year. While you may be exhausted from trying out everything you’ve read about, you might just be surprised to hear how many more are out there!

Recreate Your First Date – Pandemic Style

Do you remember your first date with your partner? Chances are that you were a lot more nervous than you are now. The night was likely filled with hopes and dreams, leading you both to where you are today! This means that it is worth celebrating. While you may be eager to re-create your first date down to every last detail, this sasquatch found a way to make it even more exciting: by doing it pandemic style!

Did you go to your favorite restaurant and then see a movie? Order take-out from that restaurant and build a blanket fort where you can watch a movie while being even more comfortable! Or, if you went to an art gallery, maybe you can try an at-home paint night and try to match the same type of art that you saw, regardless of how good your drawing skills are.

Take a Virtual Class Together

There are so many different online courses available to take that it would be a waste not to try out a Valentines Day one! There is something for everybody out there in the virtual world. Yes, even me! Whether you try out something that you’ve always been too nervous to, like a dancing class, or a simple art lesson, we’re sure that the two of you can settle on something.

You can even try out a class that will help your relationship beyond just Valentines Day! Try a couple’s massage class or a baking lesson where you can show off your skills for years to come.

Cook a Three-Course Meal Together

Whipping up a nice meal is a tried-and-true way of showing your love for somebody. Though, this Valentines Day we think that it is time to try something a little bit different. Rather than your basic dinner, why not try out a full three-course meal?

A proper three-course meal will consist of an appetizer, a main dish, and dessert. To make it even more romantic, you can each take on a dish of your own while making the third one together! Dessert is always better when you make it together with love!

Valentines Day Date Ideas for Distant Couples

Whether you live in separate cities or are just trapped inside of different houses thanks to various stay-at-home orders, this holiday might be a little rougher for you and your love as you try to go on Valentines Day dates. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t take the day to be extra romantic! These ideas are hand-picked for the pairs that have to stay far apart on this special day.

Send Goodie Boxes

One of the best ways to feel the love, even from afar, is to send each other things that make you remember why you fell in love in the first place. Ship or drop off fully stocked goodie boxes consisting of your favorite snacks, some DVDs, some Valentines Day cards, and even a cozy pair of pajamas to match yours!

Take turns opening your goodie boxes while on a virtual call together. It will feel just like Christmas!

Have a Virtual Game Night

It is never a bad time to have a game night with your partner. Though, when it comes to Valentines Day, we recommend taking it to the next level! Try out a more extensive virtual game night platform like Jackbox Games and up the stakes! There can even be a romantic prize for the winner, like an I-Owe-You pamphlet filled with things like a free massage or romantic night in when you can finally be together again!

Have a Simple (And Sweet) Treat Night

Valentines Day doesn’t have to be extravagant. After all, what is one day when you spend all 365 a year loving each other? You can spice up your evening in a much simpler way, like by adding some extra treats to the evening.

One of the fastest ways to make a basic evening a little bit more special is by adding chocolate fondue. You can each buy your own fondue kit, including chocolate, strawberries, and any other goodies that you both love! Spend the evening watching movies, playing games, or just chatting with your loved one while enjoying some delicious snacks.

Many of us are dreading Valentines Day this year. It’s the first time that this lovers holiday has been impacted by such a global event, so it makes sense that we’re approaching it with cautious optimism. If you’re willing to put in a little bit of extra work and originality, we’re positive that you’ll be able to spend it in a fun and exciting way. Who knows, you might just make your best Valentines Day memory yet!
